I recently went through an IVF cycle and my doctor prescribed Cetrotide 0.25mg for hormone suppression. I had heard a lot of mixed opinions on this medication. Has anyone else used this? I want to hear some real experiences, especially any side effects you might have had and how you managed them. I felt a bit anxious about the injection process, but my doctor assured me it's quite straightforward. I'm curious to know how others found the injections and any tips for making the process smoother.

I used Cetrotide for my IVF journey and the injection site reactions were pretty rough. I had some itching and redness, but nothing too severe. The nurse showed me how to do the injections, and it got easier over time. Definitely ask your healthcare provider for detailed instructions.

I had swelling in my face and throat and needed an epinephrine shot. Thankfully they were quick to get me to the hospital. It's terrifying when you can't breathe and you think you're dying. I finally learned my lesson: if it feels really bad, it probably is. I was lucky! Many other people seem to be fine using Cetrotide. I just had a bad day.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with the injection site reactions. I had a lot of redness and swelling and ice was my best friend, but I pulled through. A few ice packs and some ibuprofen helped to ease the pain. Even after the egg retrieval, I still had some contouring on the skin. I wish I had known how much trouble it's going to be. I hope you find some comfort in what you read here.

I was given the option to use the Cetrotide but I had heard so many horror stories, I opted for a different treatment. My sister had severe stomach pain and rapid weight gain from Cetrotide, so I was scared of it. Is it worth it to go through all that? I wish somebody had given me a clearer picture of the side effects before I started. I think my fertility doctor would have appreciated hearing about your experience too.

I had injection site reactions and dizziness when I was on Cetrotide, so I'm definitely not looking forward to more rounds of treatment. I had to take off a few days from work after the IVF egg retrieval because I was feeling so off. But I'm hoping future treatments will be smoother. I'll definitely be asking for advice on how to minimize the side effects.

I had no side effects at all. I was surprised because I'm usually very sensitive to medications. Crossing my fingers for everyone going through IVF. Just stay vigilant and keep an eye out for any of the severe symptoms mentioned above. Trust your instincts and call your doctor if something feels off.

I know Cetrotide is supposed to help with hormone suppression during IVF, but it's so scary to hear about these side effects. I wonder if there are other drugs that can do the same thing without the risks. I'm going to talk to my doctor about this. I appreciate you sharing your stories.

I took Cetrotide and I had some really bad headaches that wouldn't go away. Turns out they were due to the drugs, but I had to wait for the doctor to confirm it. If you experience something similar, hang in there. It's better to be safe and talk to your doctor.
