I've been on Clonidine 0.1mg Extended Release Tb for a few months now to help manage my ADHD symptoms. Initially, I was hesitant because of the potential side effects, but my psychiatrist assured me that it's a common and effective treatment. I've noticed a significant improvement in my focus and hyperactivity, especially since I take it at bedtime. However, I've experienced some dizziness and dry mouth, which can be annoying but manageable. Has anyone else had similar experiences, or any advice on how to deal with these side effects?

I've never heard of Clonidine being used for ADHD. Isn't it more commonly used for high blood pressure?

Clonidine saved my life. I was on other meds and they made me gain 30 lbs and feel like a zombie. I had to actually stop taking them because it was so bad. Clonidine is perfect. My ADHD was so bad that I was failing all my classes. Now I'm getting Bs and As! Stick with it! You'll get used to the side effects.

I've been on clonidine for 6 years. It does take time to get used to but it does get better.

Clonidine is actually an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, which means it stimulates certain receptors in the brain to help regulate neurotransmitters like norepinephrine. This can help reduce symptoms of ADHD by promoting calm and focus. It also does help lower blood pressure, but that seems to be the off-label use of this drug.

I was really worried about the side effects too, but my doctor said that the benefits usually outweigh the risks. I've been on it for a few weeks and so far, so good. I am feeling less irritable and more focused. Knock on wood.
