I recently started Daunorubicin 50mg Inj, 10ml for my leukemia treatment. The infusion process is straightforward but the side effects have been tough. I knew there would be side effects, but I wasn't prepared for the severity of some of them. I've been experiencing significant hair loss, which is expected, but the mouth sores and constant nausea have been particularly challenging. I also noticed that my urine turned orange, which the doctor assured me is normal. However, I'm worried about the serious side effects listed, like signs of infection and bleeding. Has anyone else experienced these side effects? How do you cope with them? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

How long have you been on it? I was on it for 2 months and it was tough, but I think it was worth it. I’m in remission now!

Be careful with infections. I got really sick and it ended up being a bad case of pneumonia. If you feel any strange symptoms get it checked out immediately.

I was so worried about the hair loss, but it was the mouth sores that got me. Saltwater rinses helped, but nothing made them go away completely. Just powered through and kept a positive attitude.

This stuff is a beast. I ended up in the hospital a couple of times due to infections. They can hit you hard and fast with this med.

I had a similar experience with Daunorubicin. The mouth sores were brutal, but gargling with a saltwater rinse helped a bit. As for the nausea, my doctor prescribed some strong anti-nausea meds that made a huge difference.

I heard this drug can make your heart weak. Didn't realize they still used this stuff. Isn't there somethign safer out there. Be careful out there.

Daunorubicin is tough, no doubt about it. But it works. I’m in remission now, so it was worth it. Just take it one day at a time and don’t hesitate to reach out to your support system for help with the side effects.

The orange urine freaked me out at first too! But yeah, it’s normal. Keep an eye on your body though, any drastic changes are worth getting checked.
