I've been receiving Dextrose 10% Injection for the past few weeks and I've had some questions and concerns about the side effects. I've noticed some muscle weakness and increased thirst, which I believe are side effects. Has anyone else experienced these? The doctor mentioned that it was normal but I just want to know if others felt the same. I'm wondering if there's any way to manage these side effects better. I've read the pamphlet about it, but I want to hear real people's experiences.

I swear by drinking plenty of water. It sounds counterintuitive but it helped me with the increased thirst.

I had a bad reaction to Dextrose 10% once. Ended up with a rash and had to stop. Wound up on a glucose drip instead. I also never went back. I had to switch to a different sugar solution.

Be careful, Dextrose 10% can cause some serious side effects. Make sure you stay in touch with your doctor and report anything unusual.

I've had a couple of friends who had seizures, make sure you monitor your sodium levels as sometimes dehydration can cause this.
