My experience with Dificid 200mg Tablets for C. diff treatment
I was recently prescribed Dificid 200mg Tablets to treat a severe case of C. diff. I've been taking it for a week now, and I wanted to share my experience and ask a few questions. The medication seems to be working, but I've had some minor side effects like stomach pain and upset stomach. However, I am not sure if these are side effects or just my body reacting to the infection. Has anyone else experienced these issues? One thing I noticed is that the medication is not absorbed much into your body and works mainly in the gut. This makes me wonder if it can be taken with other medications. I'm also curious about the potential long-term effects of this medication. My doctor didn’t mention anything concerning, but I want to be proactive about my health. I am also wondering if anyone has any tips for managing the side effects. I appreciate any advice or shared experiences you all may have.

That's a good point about the allergic reactions. They are quite rare but that doesn't mean they won't happen. I had a mild reaction with hives and itching, but that was it. My doctor told me to monitor myself closely for the first few doses.
My doctor told me there's no need to worry and I will be okay as long as I did not have blood in my stool, but I don't know if my doctor was right and I've been panicking ever since. Taking this medication is a bit of a risk when you don’t know much about it.
Wow, constipation seems to be a common side effect. Thanks everyone for your support. Hang in there with the Dificid!
Be prepared for some constipation — it happens to a lot of kids. Make sure you have some stool softeners on hand if that starts to be an issue.
I had to stop taking Dificid because it caused black tarry stools for me. Talk about scary. I thought I was dying. Turns out it was just a side effect. Has anyone else experienced this?
I paid close attention to the medication details and the possible side effects. If you notice any of the urgent side effects, seek medical help right away. I got diarrhea and constipation with it. Not the best time of my life. Thank god it was only for a short while.
A friend of mine had a severe allergic reaction to Dificid. They ended up in the ER with hives and trouble breathing. It's scary stuff. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, get medical help right away. I was on this medication for about a week and it helped clear up my C. diff infection, but I had some really bad stomach cramps, and to make things worse, my fever never went away. I’m certain they should add that to the side effects list. My doctor reassured me it was normal but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried.
Are you sure it was Dificid and not just the C. diff itself that caused the black stools? That sounds pretty scary
