My experience with Doxycycline Monohydrate 150mg Tabs - Good and Bad
I was prescribed 150mg tablets of Doxycycline Monohydrate for my acne, expecting it to be a simple fix. I had read about the possible side effects but nothing really prepared me for what I experienced. I am hoping to get some feedback on my experience, as well as hear from others who may have gone through similar issues.

AW man... I have had some severe reactions to antibiotics in the past. I worry that I might have a bad reaction to this medication. Anyone else have issues with antibiotics?
Doxycycline and other antibiotics disrupt the gut microbiome. I always make sure to take probiotics to counteract that. I don't take any antibiotic without them because otherwise I get diarrhea.
Avoiding direct sunlight while on Doxycycline is very important. I got a severe sunburn through my clothes the first time I was on it but not looking at the sky is good practice. I’ve avoided my skin burning since then.
Its best to take Doxycycline with a full glass of water and on an empty stomach. It can irritate your stomach if you don’t.
