I've been prescribed the oral transmucosal fentanyl citrate 800mcg lozenge for breakthrough pain from cancer. It works quickly, but the side effects are scary. I've had severe dizziness and constipation. Has anyone else experienced this? How do you manage the side effects? I'm scared of the serious ones like breathing problems. Has anyone had those? Also, I've heard it can be dangerous to take with other medications. Anyone have experience with that? This is a powerful medication and I want to be safe.

I've been on this for a while now. The side effects are tough, but the pain relief is worth it. I've had to switch up my diet to deal with the constipation. Also, I always talk to my pharmacist if I'm worried about new medications mixing with the fentanyl.

I'm glad I found this thread. It's helpful to know that I'm not the only one going through this. I feel like I can handle it better now that I know more.

I found that keeping a diary of my symptoms helped. I could show it to my doctor and we could adjust my meds accordingly. It also helped me feel more in control.

I had a bad reaction to this stuff. Couldn't stop sweating and had a weird headache. I had to go to the ER to get it under control. Not fun.

I didn't know fentanyl could cause serotonin syndrome. That's super scary. I need to talk to my doctor about that. Thanks for sharing.
