Hyqvia, a medicine made from human blood plasma, has been a lifesaver for me with my primary immunodeficiency. The injection process is straightforward, and the additional ingredient helps with absorption. However, the side effects can be quite scary. I've had some mild symptoms like fatigue and headaches, but I'm terrified of the severe side effects. I know someone who experienced severe breathing issues. Has anyone else had similar experiences? What are your tips for managing these side effects and when should I be really concerned?

While Hyqvia can be really effective, the side effects can be daunting. I had a friend who experienced severe lung problems and ended up in the ICU. It was scary, but she recovered. Just be cautious and don’t ignore any strange symptoms. Check with your doctor regularly.

Has anyone else had trouble with muscle pain? It’s been a bit uncomfortable, but I’ve managed it with some pain relievers and light exercise. What's irksome is the severe stomach pain.

I've been on Hyqvia for a while now, and I've had some of the milder side effects like nausea and stomach pain. But the severe ones are no joke. I always keep an eye out for any signs of an allergic reaction or kidney problems. If you experience any of those urgent symptoms, don’t wait—go to the ER. It’s better to be safe.

Irritation at the injection site can be a common one but you just need to change up the injection sites and use a cold compress or anti-inflammatory to help with that. Use the only ones that apply to you.

I’ve noticed that my skin gets really itchy and red sometimes, like an allergic reaction. But it goes away after a while. Just keep monitoring and if it gets worse don't hesitate to reach out to the doctor.

This thread is making me feel guilty for not checking in as often as I should. I had no idea it was this serious. What about the FDA? Has anyone reported their side effects to them?

I had a really bad experience with aseptic meningitis. It was terrifying. I had a huge headache, fever, and felt like my head was going to explode. If you experience any of those symptoms, get to a doctor immediately. It’s no joke.
