Hello, all. I was recently prescribed Lacosamide 200mg/20ml Injections to manage seizures. I've been using it for a bit and am curious about other people's experiences. Does anyone else have experience managing epilepsy through this specific form of Lacosamide? Or has anyone experienced side effects that require immediate attention? My doctor told me that this injection is used when you can't take the medicine by mouth, but I want to know more about how others have found it. Specifically, I'm looking for information on managing side effects and how this differs from oral medication. Has anyone else had to deal with the symptoms listed here? Please share your experiences and any advice you might have. If you have any resources or documentation to share, I would be grateful. I am also curious if anyone has had to seek medical attention immediately for symptoms? I want to be prepared for any urgent side effects. Thanks for any input.

I wish I knew about this side effect! I had a bad case of hives when I took this medication. It was like a horror movie. Please take it seriously if you experience any rash, hives or itching.

My only concern is the potential for suicidal thoughts. It's scary. I've been extra cautious and have regular check-ins with my therapist. It's important to stay on top of your mental health while on this med.

Yea, I’ve had some issues with balance and fainting spells. My doctor told me this could be due to the medication and to be cautious. It’s tough, but I’m managing. Definitely let your doctor know if you notice any issues like this!

I’ve been on Lacosamide for a while and it’s been a game-changer. No more seizures, but I did have some dizziness and blurry vision at first. Just give your body time to adjust, it should subside.

Stick with it. Shortness of breath and shaky feelings can be scary, but it’s worth it. Just be aware and cautious and your doctor can help you manage.

Why do some people have to use the injection form instead of taking it orally? What’s the difference? I’ve never had to do that.

A friend of mine had to stop Lacosamide because of severe allergic reactions. It's rare, but it happens. If you start feeling weird or if your body reacts in unexpected ways, don't wait, go to the emergency room. I'm glad I'm not dealing with this myself, but I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
