I started taking Loestrin 1/20 about a year ago, and it's been an interesting journey. Initially, I was a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the serious ones like allergic reactions and liver problems. However, my doctor assured me that these are rare and that most people experience only minor side effects. I've had some spotting between cycles and occasional headaches, but nothing too severe. I've also noticed some changes in my mood, which can be disconcerting, but I'm hoping these will stabilize over time. I'm curious to hear from others who have used Loestrin 1/20. What side effects have you experienced? How did you manage them? I'm also interested in hearing about any benefits you might have noticed, such as lighter periods or improved skin. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I switched to Loestrin 1/20 after having some issues with spotting and breakthrough bleeding on my previous pill. The switch wasn't a problem for me, but unfortunately, I ended up having to get my blood pressure checked after feeling very lightheaded and dizzy. It turned out to be high. I didn't know that birth control pills could affect blood pressure. I'm also worried about the increased risk of DVT. It makes one think twice about staying on them, even if they are effective.

I had to quit my pill because of increased blood pressure.

My experience has been quite different. I've had some weight gain, especially around my midsection, which is really frustrating, but thankfully, I haven't had any severe side effects. I've also noticed some dark patches on my face, which I've been told is due to the hormones. Any tips on how to treat this?

I've been on Loestrin for a couple of years now. The benefits have been great: my periods are lighter and more regular. However, I did experience some nasty migraines and mood swings that lasted a few months when I first started using it.
