I recently received Magnesium Sulf 40mg/ml Injection for severe asthma. It was effective, but I feared the side effects. Magnesium sulfate treats low magnesium levels, for preeclampsia or eclampsia in pregnant women. It also treats severe asthma or certain heart rhythm problems. It's administered by IV or IV bolus. The side effects list is extensive. I'm glad I was informed about the serious symptoms. My doctor warned me of the possible side effects, but I was worried. I asked my doctor about the side effects of magnesium sulfate. I was relieved to know that most were minor, but the life-threatening symptoms were scary. The doctor assured me that they would monitor me and if I had to get this, it was necessary. I'm wondering if anyone else has used this and if they had any experience with side effects? Do you know what to look out for?

Oh no! I just learned that magnesium sulfate can cause seizures if calcium levels drop too low when you have heart issues. I'm glad I'm not on this, but I'd keep an eye on calcium levels if you are!

I had magnesium sulfate for eclampsia. I was scared of the side effects. It was worth it. I remember being monitored closely.

I had this for low magnesium levels. I felt sluggish and dizzy for a bit, but nothing too bad.

I had it for eclampsia. My daughter just arrived. I don't want to have this again. But it was worth it. My daughter is healthy.

I carried my baby the whole pregnancy. I have to say this stuff works, but the unpleasantness of it was a high price to pay. I had itchy skin, but I never had any serious side effects, thankfully.

Magnesium sulfate is a mineral. It's not a magic bullet. I know people who have used it for asthma or heart rhythm problems. They had good results. If you have side effects, call your doctor. You should always take the advice of your doctor, you don’t want to risk your life.

Magnesium sulfate helped me but it was a little scary since it was an injection. I didn't have any issues but I know it can be a bit scary.

I'm a nurse and I've seen patients react to magnesium sulfate. I've seen allergic reactions, so it's crucial to monitor for that. Particularly, the drug can cause respiratory depression. Some people feel tingly and numb. It relaxes muscles and calms the nervous system, which is great for seizures or asthma, but it can slow down heart rate and breathing. It's important to report any side effects to your doctor. I had a patient who had swelling of the mouth and throat. It was scary.

Magnesium sulfate can cause muscle weakness, and it can be severe and life-threatening. I don't want to get this drug now. If you have muscle problems, call your doctor right away. I would be scared if I had this drug and had muscle problems.

I had magnesium sulfate for preeclampsia. I was scared at first, but my doctor informed me about what to expect and calmed my fears. I didn't experience any major side effects, just some dizziness which the doctor warned me about. It was worth it because I had no seizures or complications. If you have to get this, don't worry just listen to your doctors. They are there to help you.
