I’ve been taking Nevirapine 200mg Tablets for a few months now to treat my HIV-1 infection. Nevirapine has been working well for me so far—it’s helped reduce the viral load and improve my immune system. I take it along with other HIV medications as prescribed. However, I’ve had some side effects that weren’t too severe, but they were noticeable. I had some flu-like symptoms, muscle and joint pain, and a bit of an upset stomach initially. I’ve also had some fatigue but nothing that prevents me from doing my daily activities. I wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else has had similar experiences or any advice on how to manage these side effects better. I’m also curious if anyone has experienced changes in body fat or noticed the medication affecting their kidneys or phosphate levels.

I've been on Nevirapine for over a year and the side effects have mostly subsided. At first, I had a rash and some swelling, but my doctor managed it well. Stick with it, but watch for any severe reactions.

I have heard this medication should be taken with other HIV medicines and I assume Nevirapine is no exception. It usually works better in combination with other drugs.

Has anyone tried taking Nevirapine with food? I’ve noticed it helps with the upset stomach.

Trying to figure out if I should report side effects to the FDA. I’ve had some minor issues but wasn’t sure if it was worth reporting. Might need to call them and ask.

I found some changes in body fat after taking Nevirapine. Specifically, I noticed I was gaining weight in weird places. My doctor informed me that it’s a possible side effect. Anyone else experiencing this?

I’m on Nevirapine and have experienced some mood changes and muscle pain, which has been tough. My doctor suggested some supplements to help with low phosphate levels, and it’s made a difference. Definitely talk to your doctor about any symptoms you’re feeling.
