My Experience with Niacin 500mg Tablets: The Good, the Bad, and the Flush
I started taking Niacin 500mg tablets a few months ago to help manage my cholesterol levels. I had heard about the flushing side effect, but I wasn't prepared for how intense it was! The first few days were rough, but I found that taking aspirin 30 minutes before made a huge difference. I've also noticed some improvements in my chloesterol levels, which is great. However, I'm still a bit concerned about the more serious side effects and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar. Has anyone else had issues with muscle pain or weakness? I'm also curious about the long-term effects of this medication. Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated!

I wish I had known about the aspirin trick before I started! I felt like a tomato the first week. Now I take it with some food and I get light flushing but nothing bad.
I've been on Niacin for a while and it has helped a lot with my cholesterol. I don't get the flushing anymore but I do get a bit itchy. Just take it before bed and you'll be fine.
I've noticed a huge improvement in my cholesterol levels, and the flushing isn't that bad. It's worth it for me. Just make sure to take it with food.
I've had diarrhea but I'm wondering if it's just a side effect of Niacin. Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions to deal with it?
Did anyone report muscle pain or weakness to the doctor and what did they say? I’m trying to decide if I should worry about this side effect or not.
The flushing is awful, but I’m sticking with it because my doctor says it’s working. Just make sure you’re not taking any other medications that might interact badly with Niacin.
I've been on Niacin for a year now, and the flushing does get better with time. Just make sure to stay hydrated and take it with food.
I take Niacin and aspirin together and it works wonders. I didn't experience any flushing at all!
I had to stop taking Niacin because of severe muscle pain. It was terrifying, and I ended up in the ER. Be careful, people!
I was worried about liver issues since I have a history of liver problems. But so far, everything is fine, just be careful with your intake.
