I've been using Ortho Micronor Tablets 28s for about six months now, and I've had a mix of experiences. As a 'mini-pill,' it contains only progestin, which is great because I can't tolerate estrogen due to migraines. It works by thickening the cervical mucus and thinning the uterine lining, which helps prevent pregnancy effectively. However, the biggest challenge has been remembering to take it at the exact same time every day. Missing even an hour can affect its effectiveness. So far, I've only had mild side effects like dizziness and acne, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced more severe issues or has advice on managing the side effects. I've heard some people experience mood changes or weight gain, which I'm keeping an eye on. Overall, I'm satisfied with it, but I'd love to hear from others who have been on this birth control. Are you also taking Ortho Micronor 28s, and what has your experience been like?

My doctor never told me about the severe side effects. I had no idea I could have such serious complications. Is she wrong for not mentioning it?

I switched to Ortho Micronor because I couldn't handle the estrogen in combination pills. The first few months were tough with some mild side effects like nausea and headaches, but they went away. I have to say, the strict dosing schedule is challenging, especially if you travel across time zones.

This is such a big deal, I can't believe I found this thread only now. Taking the pill at 8pm every single night regardless of time zones is tough

I was on Ortho Micronor for a few months and experienced severe mood changes. My doctor suggested switching to a different progestin-only pill, and it made a huge difference. It's worth talking to your doctor if you notice any significant mood swings.

Has anyone considered using a phone reminder or setting up an alarm on their phone for when it's time to take the pill?

I had a really bad experience with Ortho Micronor, developed bad cystic acne and terrible cramping. I ended up switching to a different progestin-only pill and it's been much better.

I'm worried about the blood clot symptoms. Has anyone had to go to the hospital for this? How do you know if it's serious enough?
