I was recently prescribed Quetiapine 400mg Tablets for managing my schizophrenia. I've been on it for about two months now, and I must say, it's been a rollercoaster. Initially, I struggled with severe drowsiness and weight gain, but those side effects have lessened over time. However, I've had some issues with my vision and trouble controlling body movements, which I wasn't expecting. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced these symptoms or has advice on how to cope with them? Also, how do I know if these symptoms are normal and not a concerning side effect? Can we discuss our experiences of the drug and what steps to take?

I had a weird side effect that no one talks about - drooling! It was so embarrassing, but my doctor said it was just a side effect. It went away after a few weeks. Keep an eye out for that one.

My doctor said some people can get tardive dyskinesia from this med, but it's rare. You might want to look it up and add it to your list of things to watch out for.

I've been on Quetiapine for a while now, and I can definitely relate to the drowsiness. It was tough at first, but I found that taking it earlier in the day helped a lot. As for the weight gain, I started exercising regularly and it has helped a lot, also keeping a food diary to keep track of my calorie intake. It's a journey, but it's worth it if it helps with your symptoms.

I think people should be more aware of the potentially severe side effects. It's scary to think about, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I had a seizure once and it scared me to death. :/

I've been on this medication for about a year, and while I've had some issues with weight gain and occasional dizziness, it's been manageable. I've found that regular exercise and a balanced diet have helped me deal with the side effects. Plus, the mental clarity and stability are worth the trade-offs. But honestly, if I could ditch the weight gain I'd be happier.

I agree with some of the other comments that Quetiapine is good. It has really helped with my delusions and mood swings. I hope it keeps working for you, but remember that everyone is different. What was your starting dose? 50mg?

I’ve been taking Quetiapine for a few years now, and while it has helped a lot with my bipolar disorder, the side effects have been challenging. My doctor suggested taking it with food to reduce stomach issues. I've also found that staying hydrated helps with some of the other side effects.

If you notice your tongue randomly sticking out or any other weird mouth movements, talk to your doctor. They might be able to change your meds or lower the dose.
