My experience with Sutent 12.5mg Capsules for Kidney Cancer
Hi everyone, I've been on Sutent 12.5mg capsules for the past few months to treat my kidney cancer. The doctor explained that it blocks the proteins cancer cells need to grow and spread, and also blocks new blood vessel growth to the tumor. I've been experiencing some side effects, but I'm hoping to hear from others who have taken this medication. What has your experience been like? What side effects have you encountered? How have you managed them?

I've been lucky with minimal side effects so far. Just some nausea and slight hair loss. Fingers crossed it stays this way!
I'm on week 4 and feel like I've been hit by a truck. But the oncologist says it's normal and to stick with it. Anyone else feel this way?
I had some terrible flu-like symptoms at the start but they got better after a few weeks so don't lose hope. Stick with it.
I was on Sutent for a while, and the fatigue was unbearable. But it seemed to be working on the cancer. Hang in there.
I switched to a different drug after experiencing some pretty bad electrolyte issues. It was scary stuff. Be sure to monitor your electrolytes.
I had terrible diarrhea and mouth sores. My doctor had me switch to a different med because of it.
I noticed some redness on my palms and soles of my feet. Turns out it's a common side effect. My doc recommended some creams to help.
I had a minor allergic reaction at first—just some itching and a mild rash. My doctor gave me some antihistamines, and it sorted itself out.
