I'm looking for input and support regarding my recent decision to quit my nicotine addiction by using the 14mg/24h patch. Initially, I was apprehensive about using this replacement therapy since there's a lot of information to digest about the potential side effects, especially the urgent ones. However, after a few weeks of use, it seems like I've been successful in keeping myself away from cigarettes. Even though the first few days had me feeling a bit nervous and restless, I've come to terms with the fact that withdrawal symptoms are a natural part of the process. What are some of your experiences with nicotine patches, and how do you manage the side effects? Has anyone else had issues with side effects like trouble sleeping and irritability? Are there any other tips for managing withdrawal symptoms that have worked for folks who've tried to quit smoking?

I had so much trouble sleeping when I first started using the patch, so I talked to my doctor. They advised me to take Benadryl to help with sleep. It did the trick, and I'm now sleeping better than I have in years.

I tried everything to stop smoking. The patch, gum, and even hypnosis. But nothing seems to work. What else have you guys tried? Does anyone know anything about CBD to help keep cravings at bay?

I tried the patch, too. Had the worst headache one day while wearing it. I ended up having to take myself to the ER. Emergency symptoms are no joke. I didn't take the patches again.

I used the patch short-term, because I had to switch to the gum to help with cravings. I just had some local irritation where I was applying the patch. Is that something anyone else experienced?

As someone who used patches and is considering the switch back, my doctor told me to avoid caffeine as much as possible, since it can make you more prone to the side effects. It definitely helped when I used the patch before.

I used the patch and it helped me quit smoking after 10 years. I had some initial trouble sleeping, but I managed it with relaxation exercises.

I used nicotine patches for almost two months, but I ended up getting a bit too excited and would have trouble sleeping but I think that was just me not getting enough sleep in the first place. It helped me in the long run, though. Plus it's always been helpful to have something to do with your hands too, I would just clean or straighten up something as a distraction to keep my hands busy when I had cravings.
