I started taking Varenicline 1mg tablets a few weeks ago to help me quit smoking. I've tried to quit cold turkey and with nicotine gum in the past, but this time I really want to kick the habit for good. The medication seems to be helping with the cravings, but I've had some side effects I wasn't expecting. Has anyone else used Varenicline, and if so, were the side effects worth it? I'm curious to hear others' experiences and whether this medication has helped them stop smoking for good. I'm also concerned about mental and mood side effects, so any insights would be greatly appreciated.

It's also important to note that Varenicline can be super effective for some people, but you have to weigh the pros and cons. For example, the horrific side effects are a real possibility, so I quit taking it and just went cold turkey with nicotine patches instead.

I've been on Varenicline 1mg for about a month. I have a history of depression and anxiety, and I've had some ups and downs with my mental health. The medication definitely helps with cravings, but my doctor warned me about the potential mental side effects. Keep an eye on your mood and talk to your doctor if you notice any changes.

Thanks for this, guys. I honestly didn't know that Varenicline could be potentially so bad. Like, it's a good medication, but you need to be ready for everything. The side effects are real, and they can be pretty concerning. I'm going to book an appointment with my doctor to talk about this. I've read all your comments, and it's really helpful to hear your experiences.

Varenicline can also help with some of the withdrawal symptoms that come from quitting smoking. I felt pretty miserable when I quit before, but with this medication, I felt a lot more comfortable. Be prepared for the side effects, but if you can handle them, it's a great tool to have. I haven’t had any mental health side effects like some people are talking about, but I do get vivid dreams and I wake up every morning feeling a bit jittery. It’s a bit strange, but I can handle it.

Just wanted to say, if you are taking Varenicline and you smoke a few cigarettes, it doesn't work as well. I tried a couple times to smoke and it just made me feel very sick. I'm at the point where I don't even want to smoke anymore, because I don't want to feel that way. It's a good motivation to stick to the medication, but it can't be fun to find out the hard way like that.
