I was diagnosed with a specific type of lung cancer that has the ALK genetic change. My doctor prescribed Xalkori 50mg Capsules, and I've been taking them for a few months now. The medication works by blocking certain proteins that help cancer cells grow and spread, which is promising. However, I've experienced some side effects that I want to discuss with others who might be going through the same thing. I've had some mild issues like constipation and fatigue, but nothing too severe yet. I'm curious to hear from others about their experiences and any tips they might have for managing these side effects. Also, I want to make sure I'm aware of the more serious side effects to look out for. The potential for severe reactions is scary, but I feel confident knowing I can report any issues to my doctor or the FDA. Has anyone else had a similar experience, and how did you manage it?

Feeling pretty discouraged after reading through this. Is it just me or does this stuff sound really scary? Has anyone felt like giving up?

Anyone else having trouble with taste changes? It's weird. I thought I was hallucinating when I tasted soap for the first time. I blame Xalkori!

I had to stop taking Xalkori because of severe dizziness and slow heartbeat. It was terrifying. I wish I had known more about the potential for these side effects. It's important to be informed and vigilant. Make sure to discuss all the risks with your doctor.

I'm on my third month of Xalkori. The side effects have been manageable so far, but I did have a bit of trouble swallowing at one point. I was really worried, but my doctor said it was normal and gave me some tips to help. The nausea was bad at times but using ginger tea and eating smaller meals helped a lot. Stick with it, but definitely talk to your doctor about any issues you have.

I've been on Xalkori for six months and haven't had any major side effects yet. I do get a bit tired sometimes, but overall, it's been manageable.
