I've been prescribed Zohydro ER 20mg for chronic pain management, and it's been a rollercoaster ride. The extended-release feature is supposed to provide around-the-clock pain relief, but the side effects can be challenging. I've experienced dizziness, drowsiness, and some urinary tract infection symptoms. Has anyone else dealt with these side effects, and if so, how did you manage them? I'd love to hear from others who have been through this, especially if you've found effective coping strategies or alternative treatments. I'm also curious about the potential long-term effects like hormonal changes. I've been on it for a few months and haven't noticed any yet, but I'm a bit concerned about the future. Does anyone have experience with this, and how have you managed it? It’s hard to find a balance between managing pain and dealing with the side effects. I use a heating pad and over-the-counter pain relievers when needed, but it doesn’t always help. I'm really interested to hear everyone's experiences and any expert tips for managing side effects.

I'm not sure if the Zohydro ER is even worth it at this point. I just want to feel like myself again.

extended-release medications are tough. I switched from Zohydro ER to a different pain med after experiencing severe constipation and stomach pain. I also got a lot of chest pressure. turns out I had a bowel problem that hadn't been diagnosed because the pain from it was masked by the Zohydro

The biggest issue I had with Zohydro ER was the drowsiness. I couldn't function at work. I had to switch back to a different opioid because I couldn't live with feeling so sleepy all the time. I've heard some people say they lived with the side effects but I just could not.

I've been on Zohydro ER for a year now, and the side effects were brutal at first. The dizziness was the worst, but I found that taking it with food helped a lot. I also use stool softeners to manage the constipation, which has been a lifesaver. My doctor prescribed me a mild diuretic to help with the swelling in my arms and legs. Give them a try if you're struggling with similar issues.

For those experiencing severe side effects, have you considered consulting a pain management specialist? They might have alternative treatments or a adjusted schedule for Zohydro that could help.

I've had no side effects and I've been on Zohydro for over a year. I wonder if it's the dosage, but still, I've been lucky so far. I'm sticking with it because it's working and I've managed to adjust to the schedule of when I take it. However I do want to be aware of any long term effects so I'm keeping my doctor informed of any changes.

I'm actually interested in getting a second opinion now. I don't know if I'm going to stick with Zohydro. I'm finding the side effects to be too much for me. I haven't tried any other opioids yet but I can't keep feeling like this or I won't be able to work.
