I was recently prescribed Valchlor 0.016% Gel for my Mycosis Fungoides-type Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (MF-CTCL). The gel contains mechlorethamine, a type of chemotherapy, and is applied directly to the skin to slow down or stop the growth of abnormal skin cells. It works by damaging the DNA of these cancer cells, preventing them from multiplying. The application process is straightforward, but I've been experiencing some side effects that I wasn't quite prepared for. I have noticed a bit of itching and a change in skin colour, but nothing too severe. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and if there are any tips for managing these side effects. The urgent side effects listed on the information sheet are quite frightening, and I'm glad I haven't experienced any of those. I am hopeful that this treatment will be effective in the long run. Has anyone had any success stories with this treatment?

Anyone else think it's crazy that a topical cream can have such powerful effects? It's amazing how far we've come in medicine. Just make sure you're using it correctly and not over-applying!

Valchlor has been a part of my treatment regimen for a year now, and while it's not a cure, it's definitely slowed down the progression. I still have some itching, but it's manageable. Stay positive, everyone!

Valchlor is a powerful drug, and it's important to stay vigilant about side effects. I've had itching and a mild change in skin color, but nothing too severe yet. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions carefully and keep an eye out for any signs of infection or severe reactions.

This stuff is no joke. I had to stop using it because of the severe skin ulcers I got. Definitely keep a close eye on your skin and report any unusual symptoms to your doctor right away.

I actually found that applying the gel at night helped minimize the itching and redness. It gave my skin time to rest and recover overnight. It was a game-changer for me. Discuss this with your doctor too; it could help.

Great to hear about your experiences. I'm on my second week of using Valchlor and so far, I haven't had any major side effects. Just a bit of itching, but nothing I can't handle. Fingers crossed it stays this way!

I hope this medication helps everyone as much as it has helped me. Seriously, it's been a lifesaver. But yeah, keep an eye out for those urgent side effects. Better safe than sorry.

Keep in mind that everyone reacts differently to medication. Just because one person has a bad experience doesn't mean you will too. Keep the lines of communication open with your healthcare provider and trust their advice.

Has anyone else had issues with the application process? It feels a bit awkward at first, but I'm hoping it gets easier with practice.
