I recently started Mavenclad for my MS treatment. It's been a few weeks, and I wanted to share my experience so far. The medication is taken in short courses over two years, and then no more treatment is needed for the next two years. It works by reducing the number of specific white blood cells involved in the immune system's attack on the body in MS. I had some common side effects like headache and back pain, but nothing too severe. However, I'm a bit anxious about the potential rare but serious side effects, like infection, bleeding, and liver problems. I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with Mavenclad and what their side effects were like. Additionally, I'm curious about how strict the monitoring is during and after the treatment period? I've read the list of side effects which seems extensive. Does anyone have tips on managing the common side effects or any advice on what to expect? I'd appreciate any insights or support from others who have gone through this.

Pro tip: keep a symptom diary. Writing down everything from the day you start Mavenclad can really help you notice subtle changes and also help your doctor adjust your treatment if necessary. It might sound like a drag, but I recommend it.

Mavenclad worked wonders for me, but the monitoring was intense. I had blood tests and scans practically every month. It was tough, but knowing it was helping made it worth it.

Mavenclad has been a lifesaver for me but I have some friends who have had a lot of trouble with it. Seems like it's a lot about how one reacts to the drug. I’d recommend talking to your doctor about all of these side effects before starting the medication.

Mavenclad was a game-changer for me. After the initial course, my relapse rate dropped significantly, so I’d recommend sticking it out through the side effects, but go to an ER immediately if you think you are having a severe reaction.

Does anyone know if Mavenclad affects hair loss? I’ve been going through hair thinning which is making me nervous.

I’m on my second year of Mavenclad and haven't had any serious side effects. Just the occasional headache and upset stomach. As for monitoring, I had regular blood tests and check-ups with my neurologist. It's a bit of a hassle, but worth it for the peace of mind.

I had no idea Mavenclad could cause such severe symptoms like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome! I’m glad I read this thread. Is there any way to mitigate the risks associated with this drug?

I had a bad reaction to Mavenclad. It was a combination of the side effects listed, but also some unexpected nausea. I had to discontinue my treatment, but I’ll keep this in mind if I consider other medication in the future.

Hola! I just started Mavenclad and I'm really nervous about the potential rare side effects, especially the ones related to shingles. Anyone else have any experience with shingles after taking this drug? I've read that there is a vaccine which can help prevent this, but I haven't been able to find my neurologist's recommendation.

I'm on my first course of Mavenclad and so far, so good. Just some mildly bothersome back pain. I’m going to make sure to get plenty of rest and hydration during this time and hope nothing worse happens.
