My skin is crazy! Does anyone have experience with Tretinoin 0.01% Gel for acne?
I just started using Tretinoin 0.01% Gel to treat my acne, and I'm already noticing some changes in my skin. At first glance, it seems my skin is producing more oil than usual. But the most worrying part is that I keep getting these really itchy, red blotches on my cheeks. The packaging mentions that dryness and redness are possible, which I'm experiencing. But I'm a bit concerned about these red blotches. Should I continue using it, or should I talk to my doctor about these side effects?.I have also had trouble finding information about how to adapt my daily routine to account for the potential reactions. I'm considering using a different moisturizer or something, any advice?

I've had good luck with it. In the beginning, I also had lots of redness, but that went away as my skin got used to the medication. I found that my skin cared for it better when I slowly increased the frequency of use. So, I started by applying it every other day, then gradually increased to every day. I think this helped my skin acclimate.
I've been using it for months and my skin has improved a lot. I did experience some dryness and redness at first, but it eventually went away. I think everyone's skin reacts differently, so it's important to give it time and see how your skin adjusts. Good luck!
Same boat here! My acne was a big problem for years, and Tretinoin really helped. If I had to do it all over again, I would have been better off starting the dosage lower and working my way up. Just my 2 cents.
I felt the same way when I started using Tretinoin. My skin went through an adjustment period, but it got better after a few weeks. Stick with it, but if the itching and redness get worse, definitely consult your doctor. Also, make sure to use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to help with the dryness.
Wow. I use this stuff and I hate the peeling. Who else experiences this?
