I've heard that nystatin oral suspension can be a bit difficult to deal with, and I'm not sure what to expect. My wife has been prescribed Nystatin Oral Susp 100000u/ml 60ml for oral thrush, and I want to make sure we handle it correctly. I've read about the possible side effects, especially the urgent ones, and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? Did you or your family member have any side effects? How did you manage them? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, the urgent stuff is scary but rare. I’ve had no issues so far! Just be aware and keep an eye out.

The taste can be pretty awful. I remember my kid would gag a bit, so be prepared for that. Mixing it with a small amount of something sweet (like a bit of apple juice) might help, but check with the doctor first to be sure it's okay.

Make sure to shake the bottle well before each use. It's important to get the full dose each time. Also, you might want to apply it with a syringe or dropper to target the affected areas directly.

I’ve read about Stevens-Johnson syndrome. It’s terrifying, but thankfully, I haven’t had any issues. Keep a close eye on any skin changes, though.

I had a severe allergic reaction to this medication. It's rare, but if you notice any signs like swelling or trouble breathing, get to a doctor ASAP. I'm lucky it was caught in time.
