I've just started on Lithium Citrate 8meq/5ml Solution for my bipolar disorder, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the side effects list. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how do you manage it? I'm specifically worried about the more serious side effects like fluid and electrolyte imbalances and thyroid problems. Also, does anyone have tips for dealing with the more common side effects like dizziness and dry mouth? I feel like I'm swimming in a sea of information and I'd love to hear from people who have been through this. Let's share our experiences and support each other!

I think the most important thing is to stick with it and communicate with your doctor. I had to adjust my dosage a few times to get it right, but now I feel much more stable. It's a journey, but it's worth it.

I actually lost weight on lithium. I've also heard it can cause weight gain, so I guess it really depends on the person. As for memory loss, I haven't experienced it, but I do keep a journal to track my moods and side effects. It helps me stay on top of things.

The lithium has been a lifesaver for me. I've had to deal with some side effects, but they're manageable. Just remember, it's a balancing act, and it might take some time to find the right dosage for you. Stay positive, and don't be afraid to reach out to your doctor if you're struggling.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. It's reassuring to know it gets better with time. I'm curious, how often do you see your doctor? I'm a bit nervous about the electrolyte imbalance, and I want to make sure I'm doing things right.

I've been on Lithium Citrate for a couple of years now, and the initial adjustment was tough, but I've found ways to manage the side effects. For dizziness, I make sure to stay hydrated and avoid sudden movements. Dry mouth is a bit tricky, but I keep mints and lozenges handy. Give it some time, and you'll find what works for you. Just make sure to talk to your doctor regularly.

I had a similar experience, the thirst sensation is pretty intense in the beginning. Drink a lot of water and add electrolyte powders to it and you will be fine. As for the side effects, I was warned about feeling more tired at first but it went away after 2 weeks.
