I recently started using Neosporin Ophth Ointment 3.5gm for a bacterial eye infection, and I've been wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. This ointment contains bacitracin, neomycin, and polymyxin B, which is supposed to kill the bacteria causing the infection. However, I'm curious about the side effects and how others have managed them. I've read that severe allergic reactions can occur, so I'm being extra cautious. Has anyone else had any issues, or has it been a smooth ride for you all? Also, how does this compare to other antibiotic ointments out there? Any tips or warnings would be appreciated!

Im a medical pro so here's a tip: I would avoid the ointment at night and go for a solution during the day. This way, you can reduce the risk of temporary blurriness, which can make things blurry for a while. Plus it helps you see if the infection is getting worse.

I had a bad reaction to it—the swelling and redness got worse. I ended up having to see a doctor and was switched to something else. Not for me, but everyone's different

I've used Neosporin Ophth Ointment a few times and it's worked wonders for me. No major side effects, just a bit of eye irritation which went away quickly. Definitely recommend it.

I was really nervous about the potential allergic reactions, but I didn't experience any. Just make sure to follow the instructions and you should be fine. I kept worrying that I'd have trouble breathing or something, but luckily that didn't happen.

Why do they make this stuff so damn hard to get into your eye, though? I feel like I'm contorting myself into a human pretzel just to get it in.

Eye infections are the worst. I've tried a few different ointments and Neosporin Ophth is the only one that's worked for me consistently. Just be careful and follow the directions.

I think Neosporin just covers all the bases, but it's always a good idea to talk to your doctor about what you should be using, Some people have allergies to things and ointments that don't cause them any issues.
