Vyjuvek is a special gene therapy treatment for people suffering with Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa. It's a topical gel containing a modified virus that delivers healthy genes to the skin. This therapy helps the skin produce collagen, which is crucial for wound healing and reducing blistering. This treatment is a game-changer for those suffering from this rare, painful skin condition. However, like any medication, there are potential side effects. While the side effect list is not exhaustive, common side effects include itching, chills, cough, and runny nose. More rare, but urgent side effects include severe allergic reactions. If you or someone is affected by DEB, please share your thoughts or experiences with Vyjuvek and let's discuss!

This is a big deal for DEB patients. My niece has it, and I’m so happy to see progress being made. Let's keep the conversation going and share any updates we hear about clinical trials or availability!

As someone who has DEB, I'm really hopeful about this treatment. The blistering and pain are constant, so anything that can help is worth exploring. I've had several skin grafts and other treatments, but nothing has worked as well as I'd hoped. My doctor is looking into Vyjuvek for me. I'll let you guys know if I get any updates.

Gene therapy is the future of medicine. But it's important too, to remember that this is new and it still needs to be thoroughly tested. I'm excited, but also cautious.

What kind of long-term effects might this have? Are we sure the virus will only affect the skin, and not other parts of the body?

I wonder how effective this will be compared to other treatments. Will it be a complete cure or just a way to manage the symptoms?
