I've been using regular insulin for a while, but my doctor recently suggested switching to Lyumjev U-100. I've read that it's a very fast-acting insulin, which is great for managing post-meal blood sugar spikes, but I'd love to hear from anyone who has made this switch. Specifically, I'm wondering about the injection process—does it hurt more than regular insulin? How quickly does it start working after a meal? And has anyone experienced any of the side effects listed in the documentation, especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions or low potassium levels? Is there anything I should do to prepare for any potential side effects? Any insights or advice would be super helpful!

The side effects for Lyumjev are real though. I got muscle cramps and felt really weak. It's definitely worth talking to your doctor to figure out the right dosage because it can be tricky.

Great thread! I've been on Lyumjev for about a year now and it's been amazing for controlling my post-meal spikes. I actually found that the injection site reactions were less severe than with my previous insulin. I do carry glucose tablets just in case I experience a low blood sugar episode which can happen occasionally. I highly recommend it if you're looking for something more effective.

I've been on Lyumjev for a while now and I've noticed that it works super fast. Like, almost immediately after eating. It's amazing, but also a bit scary because you have to be really on top of your glucose levels. I got chills and a fever once and thought it was something else, but ended up being an infection. Take it seriously.

Does anyone know if Lyumjev can be used with a pump? I'm thinking of switching to a pump system and wanted to know if this insulin is compatible.

I've been using Lyumjev for about 6 months. It works great, and I haven't had any major side effects. I've experienced some fatigue but I think that's more from the ongoing stress of managing diabetes. I highly recommend it!

I had to switch from my regular insulin quickly and Lyumjev was recommended. I have been using it for a month now and I noticed some weight gain, but I'm not too concerned. It's worth it for the better blood sugar control. I did get some flu-like symptoms but they went away after a week.

Be really careful with Lyumjev. I had a friend who had a severe allergic reaction after just one injection. The symptoms started with some itching and then progressed to swelling and trouble breathing. Thankfully, he got to the ER in time.

I switched to Lyumjev a few months ago and it's been a game-changer. The injections are similar but I noticed it works much faster than regular insulin. My blood sugar levels are much more stable now. The side effects were minimal for me but I did get a slight headache the first few days. Nothing major though.
