I've just been prescribed Tolvaptan 30mg/15mg Tablet Pak for Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). I've read through the possible side effects, and honestly, I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else started this medication? What was your experience like? Any tips on managing the side effects, especially the serious ones? Also, how does it feel to be on this medication long-term? I'd really appreciate any insights or advice! Thanks!

Do you take the 30mg or 15mg tablet? I usually take two 15mg tablets to ease the side effects.

My husband has been on Tolvaptan for a year now. It really made a difference in his kidney function. To be honest the increased thirst is annoying, but it's worth it to keep his kidneys working well. Hang in there and remember it’s all worth it in the long run

I've been on Tolvaptan for about 6 months now. The first few weeks were tough with some dizziness and frequent urination, but it has gotten better. Make sure to drink plenty of water and listen to your body. Good luck!

This is great advice. I think it's important to mention regular check-ins with your doctor. They can monitor your electrolyte levels and make adjustments as needed. Stay on top of your appointments! Good luck!

I was terrified of the side effects too, but it's been manageable. I keep a bottle of water with me at all times. The biggest issue for me was the increased thirst. Drink lots of water and avoid alcohol. Also, make sure to track your urine output. Contact your doctor ASAP if you notice any drastic changes.

I've heard that some people find it helpful to take the medication at night, so the side effects are more manageable during sleep. Has anyone tried this? I'm curious to know if it works for you

I think it's important to note that everyone's experience is different. While some people might have a rough start, others might not have any side effects at all. Just be prepared and stay in close contact with your healthcare provider.
