I've just been prescribed Tretinoin Micro 0.04% Gel for my acne, and I'm feeling a bit nervous about starting a new skincare regimen. I've heard it can be quite harsh on the skin initially, but I'm hoping it will help clear up my acne in the long run. Has anyone else used this product? What were your experiences like, especially in the first few weeks? Any tips on how to minimize the side effects would be greatly appreciated! Also, I've had severe reactions to medications before. Is this a typical experience with Tretinoin? Should I be concerned?

I had such a hard time with Tretinoin because it caused flare ups. I wish I could have used it because it was helping other people but not me. I don’t recommend it for everyone.

I wouldn't worry too much about severe reactions. They are rare, but it's always good to be cautious. If you start feeling any of the serious side effects, definitely contact your doctor right away. Also, make sure you're using it exactly as prescribed. For me, that was a thin layer every other night, gradually increasing to every night as my skin got used to it.

I've been using Tretinoin for about 3 months now, and it's been a game-changer for my acne. The first few weeks were tough—my skin felt really dry and irritated, but I stuck with it and now my skin is much clearer. I definitely recommend using a good moisturizer and sunscreen during the day to help with the dryness. Just remember, it's all part of the process!

I was hoping Tretinoin was going to be a magical cure to my acne but my skin got worse before it got better. It wasn’t worth it. Stick to topical creams.

I've been using Tretinoin for about a month now. So far, so good! My skin is a bit dryer, but nothing I can’t handle with a good moisturizer. Just a word of advice: don’t overdo it. I’ve heard people applying it too often can make things worse.
