I've been trying to quit smoking with the help of Nicotine Polacr 2mg Gum. I've been using it for about a month now, and while it's helped with the cravings, I've experienced some side effects that I wasn't expecting. I've noticed some irritation at the site of application (blood blisters) and a few bad dreams, I think from the intense dopamine hit. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I know it's a different delivery system, but this is way worse than any nicotine patch I've used before. How do you deal with this side effect?

I'm also curious if anyone has had these side effects and if they've gone away or if they're something I should talk to my doctor about. Is there a risk of gum dependency? I know that nicotine gum itself isn't physically addictive, but there's definitely a psychological aspect to it.

On the plus side, I feel like it's really helped with the cravings and withdrawal symptoms. I'm just hoping these side effects don't get worse. I'm taking a little break and will restart if I need to.

I'm also trying to cut back on my caffeine intake, so if anyone has tips for that as well, it'd be appreciated :).

This is a bit off-topic, but I swear up and down that a lot of gum (especially sugarless gum) is really bad for your teeth. Nicotine gum is no exception. It's just that bad.

I had bad dreams and some irritability when I first started using the gum and I agree it was really bad. When the gum is warm it releases more nicotine and the polymer dissolves a little and then you get a hit. Maybe do some research and try using it more effectively. Maybe try nicotine patches to help with withdrawal symptoms? I went from one pack a day to none in a couple weeks and it was a huge difference. But I can't speak to the dental problems.

I've had some stiff joints and trouble sleeping, too. But it's a small price to pay. I'd rather deal with that than the prospect of lung cancer. But I feel like my teeth are really weird, so if teeth are an issue then get them checked out.

I've been using Nicotine Polacr 2mg Gum for a few months now, and I've had some joint pain and back pain but it's gotten easier to deal with. I agree with the psychological aspect, though. I chew the gum when I'm bored or stressed, even if I don't really need the nicotine. Maybe try setting specific times for when you use it so you're not overusing or focusing on it as a reward too much. But also, it's worth noting that gum is way less expensive than cigars, so I'm saving money and my health. It's a win win negative.

I had some bad dreams at first, but they went away after a week or so. Stick with it, it gets better!

You've gotta call your doctor. Side effects are nothing to joke about, especially with gum! Hopefully it's all fine, but it's important to be safe. It's not worth putting yourself under stress for this.

I've also had some problems with a numb jaw, but i think it's just from clenching my teeth when chewing. I don't know if that's a real thing but it feels real. I'm not sure if that's worth talking to a doctor about but it's definitely something to be aware of. Hopefully it goes away soon though, or I'm gonna need to find a new way to get my gum.

If I'm on the road or driving then it feels a little better. But the bad dreams are really bad. I had no idea my dreams could be that bad, so I take my gum out when I get to bed. I'm surprised it's not worse, but I still feel like it's worth it to have nic powdered gum, but only in moderation. I'm not sure it's worth it, though.
