I was recently prescribed Niva-Plus Tablets for my prenatal vitamins. They contain essential nutrients like folic acid, iron, and calcium. I've heard they are really helpful but the list of side effects is quite concerning. Has anyone taken these and should I be worried about the possible side effects? I'm particularly nervous about the severe allergic reactions mentioned

I really want to start taking Niva-Plus, but I'm scared of the allergic reactions. How likely are these reactions, and are they really that severe?

I didn't experience any severe issues, but I did have some mild constipation. Drinking plenty of water and eating fiber-rich foods helped a lot. I've also had trouble with these types of supplements in the past. My advice, if you can't do pills, tell your doctor. Maybe you can try chewable tablets that are easier to swallow.

I need something with folic acid. It’s important for baby’s brain development right? These should be fine for me, right?

I had horrible nausea, vomiting and heartburn— that was awful. I switched to a different brand and am doing much better.

I was taking something similar and had to switch to Niva-Plus because it worked better

The list of side effects is super scary. I'm considering just sticking with my prenatal food. I'm having a hard time finding information about side effects online.

My doctor recommended these to me and I've had no issues so far. My stool changed color, but my doctor said that was normal. Just be sure to take them with food to avoid stomach upset.

I had to stop taking these because they made my stomach hurt so bad. It was constant pain, especially after I'd eat, and I couldn't stand it anymore. Be careful, I guess. Everyone is different when it comes to nutrients.

My doctor assured me that the severe side effects are rare, so I didn't worry too much. The benefits of the vitamins and minerals outweighed the risk for me. I hope you feel the same way.
