Hello everyone, I've been using Nu-Gel 90gm for the past few weeks to combat my dry skin, and while it does make my skin feel softer, I'm a bit worried about the side effects. The warning about skin infections and allergic reactions is a bit scary. Has anyone else had any issues with this product? I've read the description and it says it forms a 'protective layer' to prevent moisture loss, but I'm not sure if this might be causing any of the problems I've heard about. I'd love to hear from people who have had good or bad experiences with it. Thanks!

I'm actually thinking of switching to a different brand just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?

Next time someone says 'it's just a moisturizer,' show them this thread. Clearly, it's more complicated than that.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the FDA should have a bit more info on this stuff. How are we supposed to know what's safe and what's not?

I work in a lab and I can tell you that any ointment that forms a protective layer can sometimes trap bacteria, which might cause an infection. Just be vigilant and keep an eye out for any signs of trouble.

Aren't all moisturizers supposed to form some kind of barrier to keep moisture in? Maybe it's just the way this one does it that's causing issues for some people.

I've been using Nu-Gel for a month now and haven't had any issues. It's the first thing that's actually helped my super dry skin, and I haven't noticed any side effects.

I had some mild redness at first, but it went away after a few days. Maybe it was just my skin adjusting to the new product? Either way, I'm happy with it now.
