I was prescribed Ofloxacin 0.3% ophthalmic solution to treat a bacterial conjunctivitis. The doctor said it’s an antibiotic that should clear up the infection in no time but I've been experiencing some burning sensation lately and my eyes still feel irritated. Has anyone else had a similar issue or any advice if this is normal? Also, I can’t find a lot of information about this drug, and I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. I've heard about rare but severe complications like Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Has anyone else experienced any serious issues with this medication? Any insight or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also, what's the deal with the price? I didn't know something that small could cost an arm and a leg...

Honestly, it’s not worth the price. I paid so much for something that I could get cheaper over the counter but I guess insurance doesn’t want to cover everything.

Well, the burning sensation is pretty common but it should not be severe. In case of severe eye irritation, itching, redness, swelling of the eyelids, or other changes in the eyes, stop using it immediately and see a doctor.

This medication is generally effective, but if you experience any life-threatening side effects, such as an allergic reaction, Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis, seek medical attention immediately.

This stuff is a lifesaver! I was skeptical at first but it cleared my pink eye super fast. No side effects. This is a very common prescription and it works!
