I've been prescribed olanzapine ODT 10mg Tablets to treat my bipolar disorder. I was happy to find out that the Orally Disintegrating Tablet form dissolves quickly in the mouth. However, I'm a bit worried about the long list of possible side effects. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? What was your experience like? How did you handle any side effects? I already feel a bit dizzy after the first few doses, and I'm worried about the more serious side effects like neuroleptic malignant syndrome. I know that's rare, but it's scary to think about. I just want to know what to expect and how to manage it.

I had a friend who got neuroleptic malignant syndrome from this drug. It's rare but super scary. Listen to your body, and if something feels off, get to a doctor.

I've had issues with tingling and numbness. Turns out it was related to a vitamin deficiency. Getting that checked might help!

Has anyone else had issues with weight gain? It's been a struggle.

I've been on olanzapine ODT for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my schizophrenia. The dizziness is a bit annoying, and I've gained some weight, but my doctor says that's manageable. I haven't experienced any of the serious side effects, knock on wood. Just make sure you talk to your doctor regularly and report any changes.

I've been lucky with this med. No major side effects here, and it's been really effective for my bipolar. Just keep an eye on your blood sugar levels—it can mess with those. And avoid alcohol; it makes the side effects way worse.

This is scary, man. Just hope it works for you. Upvoting for visibility.

I take the regular olanzapine, not the ODT, but I know people who switched because it's easier to take. Definitely talk to your doctor about managing the side effects—some are unavoidable, but others can be mitigated with lifestyle changes or other meds.

I'm glad these tablets are available. I've seen other antipsychotics cause unbearable dry mouth, but this one's been good so far. I feel so much better now, mentally.
