I've been prescribed Olanzapine/fluoxetine 6-25mg Caps for my treatment-resistant depression associated with bipolar disorder. I've had a really rough time with various medications and I'm hoping this combo will be the one to help. Anybody have experience with these meds? How effective were they? What were the side effects? Was it hard to start and get used to? Thanks for sharing your stories. I need all the info I can get.

I had to stop taking it because of the severe dry mouth. It was unbearable. But for some people, it really works, so it's worth a try if you're desperate. Just be aware of the side effects and talk to your doctor.

I had a really hard time with the increased appetite. I was starving all the time. But the depression lifted, so I guess that's a trade-off worth making.

All I can say is be patient. It took me about 3 months to feel the full effects, but it was worth it. I was finally able to enjoy life again.

I was on this combo for about 6 months. It helped with my mood swings and depression, but the weight gain was insane. I gained 20 pounds in just a couple of months. I had to switch because of that.

Olanzapine/fluoxetine saved my life. I was at rock bottom and nothing else worked. Sure, the side effects were rough, but it was worth it to feel normal again.

I had some hormonal changes, it wasn't fun.

Be careful with the side effects, especially the serotonin syndrome. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with a fast heartbeat and fever. Scary stuff. Make sure to monitor yourself closely.

My doctor recommended trying this after nothing else worked. I was skeptical, but it actually helps. Just be prepared for some side effects, but if it helps, it helps.

I've been on it for a year now. It's been a lifesaver. No more suicidal thoughts and my mood is much more stable. I did have some initial dizziness and drowsiness, but that went away after a few weeks. I'd recommend giving it a shot if other meds haven't worked.

I took this combo for a few months and it was a nightmare. The dizziness and drowsiness were so bad I couldn't function. I had to switch to something else.
