Omeprazole 40mg Capsules: My Experience and Side Effects - Am I alone?
After starting Omeprazole 40mg Capsules for my acid reflux, I've been having some unusual side effects. I want to know, does anyone else experience unpleasant side effects? I want to know if it's worth stopping this med or just dealing with them as they are much less dangerous than my GERD. I'm also curious how long do these side effects last? Does it get better over time? Or do they stay until I stop the medication? I'm just wondering if the cure is worth the side effects. My doctor said it's all normal as the body adapts, but I can't shake the feeling of worry in me.

I've been on Omeprazole for over a year now, and I didn't have any side effects for the first 2 months. It took me a while to adjust, but the side effects went away. I'm glad I stuck with it! Just remember, everyone is different and might have different experiences.
I am so glad I found this thread! I was starting to feel alone. I've been experiencing nausea and even some dizziness. If you experience dizziness, please let me know if it gets worse.
I've had a really bad experience. I took it for a week and got so sick. Fever, chills, the whole nine yards. I'm going to my dermatologist to check for Stevens-Johnson syndrome now! Can anyone else relate?
I had severe diarrhea and cramps for the first 2 weeks. My doctor said it was probably just my body adjusting to the medicine. I'm glad I talked to my doctor! I almost threw the meds in the trash. It's better to know that it's normal rather than worrying about it!
I've been on omeprazole for 5 years and I'm doing just fine. I did have some weird dreams and headaches in the beginning, but they went away after a month. Don't worry! It'll get better!
