I was prescribed Omnicef 250mg/5ml Suspension 60ml for my kid's ear infection, and I'm a bit concerned about the potential side effects. The prescription information lists some pretty serious symptoms like allergic reactions, seizures, and jaundice. Has anyone had to deal with any of these severe side effects, or is it rare? I guess it's hit or miss. My kid had no problems, but a friend's kid had a pretty bad reaction. Just keep a close eye on things and you'll be fine.
I work in a pharmacy and we rarely hear about serious side effects from Omnicef. Just keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms and you should be fine.
My daughter got a rash from Omnicef, but it was mild and went away after we finished the course. But Omnicef has always worked great for us for strep throat
For diarrhea, try some probiotics. They can help keep your gut healthy while on antibiotics. Good luck!
Why not ask the doctor for a different antibiotic if you're so worried? There are plenty of options out there.
Be really careful with the allergic reactions. My cousin had a bad reaction to a similar antibiotic and ended up in the ER. Better safe than sorry.
I had a friend who got really sick because she didn't finish her full course of antibiotics. Make sure you follow the prescription exactly as directed.
I've had no issue, but my stomach is a tank. Just give it some time if it gets given to your kid. My mom just told me to finish it out.
