I recently underwent chemotherapy, and my doctor prescribed Ondansetron 40mg/20ml Inj to manage nausea and vomiting. This medication works by blocking serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can cause these symptoms. The injection is typically given before chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery to prevent these issues from arising. Unfortunately, like any medication, it comes with potential side effects. I've had a few minor issues like feeling tired or weak. However, the benefits outweigh the risks for me. I wanted to share my experience and gather information from others who have used Ondansetron. Have you experienced any severe side effects? How has this medication worked for you?

I've had Ondansetron a few times and it always works great. Definitely recommend it to anyone dealing with severe nausea. Just keep an eye out for those serum sickness symptoms.

I wish they had a pill version of Ondansetron instead of injection. Anyone knows if they are planning to make one?

I had Ondansetron after my surgery and it worked like a charm. No nausea at all. Just a bit of diarrhea, which was annoying but manageable.

I didn't know Ondansetron can cause abnormal heart rhythms. Scary stuff. Thanks for sharing your experiences so everyone can be aware.

Seriously though, if you have any severe side effect, even if you think it's not related, go to the ER or call your doctor immediately. Better safe than sorry, ya know?

Be careful with Ondansetron if you're on other medications. I had serotonin syndrome symptoms after my first dose. Turns out, a pill I was taking for migraines interacted with the Ondansetron. Always check with your doctor.

I had a severe reaction to Ondansetron—swelling of the face and trouble breathing. Thankfully, I was in the hospital, and they could act quickly. Anyone else had similar issues?
