I've been on Onpattro for a few months now, and I've noticed some improvements in my nerve function. However, I'm curious about the long-term side effects, especially eye changes and night vision. I'm also wondering if anyone else has experienced vein irritation during the infusion. The literature mentions that vein irritation is possible, I would like to know how others have managed this and any tips or tricks they may have to deal with the issue. Additionally I have heard a lot about the possible long term night vision issues. For those who have experienced night vision issues, how bad is it and is it something that gets better or worse over time?.

It pains me to hear some of you are having issues with Onpattro, but at the same time it is nice to see that others are having similar experiences. A lot of the time, these forums can make us feel alone since not everyone is experiencing the same issues.

I've had a similar experience with vein irritation. It's really uncomfortable, but my nurse recommended applying a cold compress after the infusion, which helped a lot. Also, in terms of night vision, it's something I've noticed, but it's not debilitating. I've been having monthly checkups with my doctor and they've mentioned the eye changes and night vision issues may be related to my specific case of hATTR amyloidosis, and not necessarily all cases.

This thread is a lifesaver! I've been anxious about starting Onpattro, but it's good to know that many others are having manageable side effects.

For those experiencing vein irritation, you might want to ask your medical team about using a smaller gauge needle or a different infusion site. They should be able to guide you on how to minimise this side effect.

I didn't experience any serious side effects but I did have some muscle spasms and joint pain. My doctor and I decided to try some physical therapy and it has seemed to help.
