I've been taking Orenitram ER 2.5mg Tablets for about six months now to manage my pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The medication has definitely helped with my shortness of breath and fatigue, allowing me to exercise more easily. However, I've experienced some side effects that I wanted to share. I've had occasional dizziness and headaches, which can be a bit frustrating, but nothing too severe. I've also noticed some flushing and mild stomach pain. I was initially worried about seeing the tablet shell in my stool, but my doctor reassured me that it's normal. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Are there any tips for managing these side effects?

This thread is exactly why I joined this sub! I'm starting Orenitram soon and wanted to hear from others. Thanks for sharing your experience—it's reassuring to know that the side effects might get better over time.

I've had a similar experience with the tablet shells in the stool. It's a bit gross, but at least it's normal! Just wanted to chime in and say, don't worry about that part.

Orenitram can be tough on the digestive system. I found that taking it with a light snack and a glass of water helped a lot with the stomach pain.

I’m glad to hear that the medication is helping overall, but I want to add: if anyone experiences severe dizziness, fainting, or any signs of bleeding, seek medical help right away. Those are serious side effects that need immediate attention.

I’ve been taking other medications for PAH and I didn't deal with the flushing as much. I worry about developing a rash or hives, but it hasn't happened yet. I just wanted to say that everyone reacts differently to meds.

I've been on Orenitram for a year, and it's been a game-changer for my ability to walk around and do daily activities without feeling winded. The side effects were rough at first—lots of flushing and headaches—but they've subsided over time. My doctor suggested taking the tablets with food to help with the stomach pain, and it's worked wonders.
