I recently started taking Ortho-Novum 1/35 Tabs 28s as my new birth control method. I've heard a lot about the possible side effects, and I'm curious to know if anyone else has had similar experiences. Specifically, I'm interested in hearing about the more common side effects like changes in menstrual periods, weight gain or loss, and any tips on how to manage them. Also, I'd love to know if anyone has experienced the more urgent side effects and how they were handled. Let's share our stories, tips, and any questions we have about this birth control pill. Remember, everyone's experience is unique, and it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider if you have concerns.

I want to switch to this pill but I am scared to switch to Ortho-Novum because of all the risks. Anyone else having the same fears?

I've been on Ortho-Novum for a few months now, and I definitely experienced some spotting and lightheadedness at first. It usually passed by the third week of the pack. My doctor told me it can take a few months for the body to adjust to the hormones, so I stuck with it. I also noticed some weight gain, but I managed to keep it in check with diet and exercise. It's a bit frustrating, but I'm sticking with it because it's effective for me. Just make sure to take it regularly, as missing a pill can really mess with your cycle.

I switched to this because my first pill made me super moody. I've had entirely different side effects, which isn't unexpected. My breasts are super sore, which I hate, but I can deal with it. Also, any advice on dealing with dizziness is appreciated. Also, this thread is basically my life now.

I started taking Ortho-Novum a couple of months ago and had some really bad cramps and bloating. I thought it was just another thing to deal with, but my doctor said it could be due to the pill. Any tips on how to manage this? I feel like I'm constantly bloated, and it's getting on my nerves. I’m also curious if anyone has experienced gallbladder issues after using Ortho-Novum!

I've been on Ortho-Novum for a few years now, and I've had mostly positive experiences. The side effects were pretty mild for me—just some occasional headaches and slight weight gain. I've found that staying hydrated and exercising regularly helps with these issues. But what I'm really worried about is the more severe side effects like blood clots. Has anyone experienced anything like that or know the signs to look out for? Asking because I have a family history of blood clots, so I'm extra cautious!

I had a friend who took Ortho-Novum and got a really bad headache. She had to go to the emergency room because it was so severe. Then when she got there, the doctor said it was a MIRA. They said it was potentially life-threatening. I don't know if I would ever try it, but it could be worth it to everyone.

I've been on Ortho-Novum for a while and have had good experiences overall. The first month was rough with nausea, but it went away quickly. My periods are lighter now, and I have fewer mood swings. If you're just starting, give it a couple of months to see if the side effects ease up. It's been great for me, but everyone's body responds differently. Stick with it, keep to your routine, and stay in touch with your doctor. I appreciate all the helpful comments!

I've been on Ortho-Novum for a while and have noticed some changes in my menstrual cycle. I've had spotting between periods, but my doctor said it's normal and should stop after a few months. I've also had some breast tenderness, but it's manageable. I've found that wearing a supportive bra helps a lot. If anyone else has experienced anything similar and has any tips for managing, please share. Also, curious if anyone has experienced changes in eyesight or loss of vision.
