Oseltamivir 30mg Capsules: A Life Saver or a Risky Bet?
I have been prescribed Oseltamivir 30mg Capsules to treat my flu. I'm a bit worried about the side effects, especially the neurological problems mentioned. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience? Should I be worried about these side effects? The list seems quite scary; should I just tough out the flu? I read that it works best within the first 48 hours of symptoms. Does that mean I won't get better if I start it later? I'm confused and looking for some insight.

I'm a pharmacist. Oseltamivir is effective but has potentially serious side effects. Like all antiviral medication, you should seriously consider the trade-offs. It's crucial to start it within 48 hours of symptoms for best results. Always consult your doctor if you experience any side effects, especially the severe ones mentioned. The benefits can be significant when you catch the flu at the beginning. Also, always talk to the doctor about alternatives and the actual strain of influenza.
My kid had the flu last winter, and the doctor prescribed Oseltamivir. We started it right away, and she recovered quickly. No side effects at all. I think it's a good medication if you catch the flu early.
You should get a flu vaccine to prevent such disease altogether. I'd rather avoid getting the flu, and Oseltamivir is an unnecessary risk. It's much more dangerous to assume flu-like symptoms and then start taking antiviral medications. The symptoms of influenza can mimic other, more serious illnesses, like meningitis or an autoimmune disorder.
I think the side effects are overblown. I've never had any issues with Oseltamivir, and I've taken it a few times. Just make sure to take it as soon as you feel sick.
I took this last year and had some mild diarrhea and headache. Nothing too bad, and it did help me get over the flu faster. I'd say it's worth a shot if you're really sick.
I took Oseltamivir last year and it worked wonders. I started feeling better within a couple of days. No side effects for me, but I did take it as soon as I felt the flu coming on.
Oseltamivir saved my life last winter. I had a bad case of the flu and was getting worse. Started the medication, and within a few days, I was back to normal. No side effects for me, but I did take it as soon as I started feeling bad. I think people should stop trying to 'tough out' the flu. I wish more people understood the seriousness of influenza. Some strains are quite nasty, especially for those with underlying health conditions.
I had a horrible experience with Oseltamivir. I developed a severe rash and had to stop taking it. It was scary, and I ended up in the hospital. I think the benefits are not worth the risk for me.
My friend had a bad reaction to Oseltamivir. She ended up in the ER with some severe skin reaction. It's scary to think that could happen to anyone. I'm not sure I'd want to take it myself now.
