I was recently prescribed Otrexup 17.5mg/0.4ml Pf Injection (Methotrexate) for my rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor explained that it helps by slowing down certain cells in the body, which reduces inflammation. I’m taking it once a week, and so far, it seems to be helping, but I've noticed some side effects that I’m not sure about. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'm particularly worried about the potential for serious side effects like infections or allergic reactions. Did anyone else experience headaches and confusion? If so, what did you do?

I hear you on that. The pills might be easier, but the injections have been working great for me so far. Plus, I was given a guide on how to inject it at the pharmacy, the guy there was super nice and reassuring. I guess it just depends on what works best for your body. I've also been taking some over-the-counter pain medication for the joint pain.

Be careful, though. I had a friend who ended up with severe abdominal pain and had to go to the hospital. Turns out it was pancreatitis. Scary stuff! It's important to pay attention to any unusual symptoms and go straight to the doctor if something feels off.

I can never remember if I should take it on the same day every week, but it does seem to help a lot!

I'm worried about the injection site. I tried the injection a few times, but it left me with a bruise every time that I forgot about it for a day and ended up hurting myself worse. I think once I ease into it, it'll be okay, but does anyone have any tips?

I had a similar experience with the dizziness. I just made sure to rest more and drink plenty of water. It got better after a few weeks. As for the serious side effects, I haven't had any of those, thankfully. But I keep a close eye on any unusual symptoms just in case. The worst part for me were the common cold symptoms, I felt like I was getting sick every month or so.

I’m on the same medication and have had some mild dizziness and weakness. My doctor said it’s normal, but I’m still worried about the serious side effects. How often do these happen? Can anyone share their experience with kidney problems or bone pain? My doctor mentioned that it's rare, but I'm still anxious.

I’ve been on Otrexup for about six months now. I did have some hair loss and fatigue at the beginning, but it got better after a while. The common cold symptoms were pretty mild, nothing too concerning. I'm also glad to say there were no signs of infection or allergies. Plus side: I've seen a big reduction in inflammation! I'd recommend taking it on the same day every week to keep your body in a routine.
