I recently started Oxaliplatin treatments and was curious to hear from anyone else who's experienced this. What side effects did you encounter and how did you manage them? Any tips on dealing with cold sensitivity? Looking forward to hearing from the community.

Be prepared for the fatigue. It's like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I took it easy and made sure to rest a lot. Also, stay hydrated! It helps with the overall discomfort.

I've heard there are different protocols for administering Oxaliplatin to minimise side effects. If you're not getting that, it might be worth asking your oncologist about it.

Did they tell you about the risk of rhabdomyolysis? It's rare but scary. Keeping hydrated and watching for muscle pain and weakness is crucial -- that's what I've been told.

Dang, glad to hear you're doing better though. If anyone else is dealing with this, definitely talk to your doc about managing the side effects. It's not easy but knowing what to expect can help.

I had some discomfort in my joints. It was hard to move around. I had to take painkillers and massage my joints regularly to ease the pain.

I had a bad allergic reaction to it. Thankfully, I was in the hospital, and the doctors managed it quickly. Be aware of the signs and don’t hesitate to call for help.

I had severe nausea and vomiting. My doctor prescribed some anti-nausea medication that helped a lot. For the cold sensitivity, I avoid cold drinks and keep warm clothes handy.

My aunt underwent Oxaliplatin treatment and she said wearing multiple layers and drinking warm drinks helped a lot with the cold sensitivity.

Yes, the mouth sores were the worst for me. I started using a really good mouthwash and salt water rinses. It helped a lot with the pain and irritation.
