I've been prescribed Oxymorphone ER 30mg Tablets for managing severe, persistent pain. It's been a life changer for me. I'm learning to manage the side effects and understand the risks. This medication is an extended-release opioid, which means it releases the medicine slowly over 12 hours. It's crucial to understand that this isn't for 'as needed' pain or for post-surgery unless you are already taking opioids regularly. I wanted to start a thread to discuss our experiences, side effects, and any tips or advice we might have for each other. I'm curious to know if anyone else has experienced some of the more serious side effects or how to navigate the challenges of long-term use.

I've had some pretty wild hallucinations, but after I told my doctor about it, my dose was adjusted. It's still scary to think about the possibility of these side effects. I know that everybody's experience is different and everyone's side effects differ.

This stuff is a lifesaver, but you have to be really careful with it. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital because he mixed it with alcohol. It can be really dangerous. Make sure you talk to your doctor about any other medications or substances you're using.

I've been on Oxymorphone ER for about 6 months now, and it's been a rollercoaster. The good news is that my pain is manageable, but the side effects have been tough. I've had severe constipation and some dizziness. I've found that increasing my fiber intake and staying hydrated helps with the constipation. For the dizziness, I've had to be extra cautious about standing up too quickly. It's a balancing act, but it's worth it for the pain relief.

I absolutely hate the constipation part. I mean, it's really bad. I've tried stool softeners and laxatives, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I can't believe some of you are experiencing such severe side effects. I've been pretty lucky, but it's still a nightmare to think about all the things that could go wrong. I just want to enjoy the benefits of this medication without the frightening side effects.

I've found that taking my dose right before bed helps with the dizziness and drowsiness. It's like a built-in sleep aid, plus I wake up with a clear head.

Have any of you experienced any of the really serious side effects like serotonin syndrome or adrenal gland problems? I know they're rare, but it's still scary to think about. I want to be prepared in case something like that happens.

I've been on this medication for about a year now, and I've noticed that the tablet shell sometimes appears in my stool. Is this normal? I've been worried about it, but I can't find any information online.
