I just started taking Carbidopa/levodopa 10-100mg Tabs for Parkinson's disease and was wondering if anyone else has experienced sudden sleepiness, especially during activities like driving or eating. The leaflet mentions this as a rare but serious side effect, and I want to understand what to expect. I'm a bit nervous about this because I commute daily. On the other side, my doctor says this is the most effective drug for my condition. Struggling between the two sides of the coin here. Any help?

This post is a great reminder to talk to your doctor. I feel the side effects can turn into more serious problems if you don't talk about them.

I had a really bad experience with this medication. I started having hallucinations and it was terrifying. I had to stop taking it right away.

I haven't had any issues with sudden sleepiness, but I do get really dry mouth. Does anyone else have this issue? It's so annoying!

Sudden sleepiness is a serious side effect and should not be ignored. If you feel drowsy or sleepy, stop what you're doing right away and find a safe place to rest. This is not a problem to take lightly.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've been taking this for 6 months and I haven't had any side effects. My tremor is gone and I'm feeling much better.
