As a parent, nothing is more terrifying than the thought of your child having a severe allergic reaction. Auvi-Q 0.1mg is an emergency medicine designed to treat anaphylaxis in infants and small children weighing 16.5 to 33 pounds. It works by quickly opening airways, raising blood pressure, and reducing swelling. However, it's important to understand that Auvi-Q is not a substitute for emergency medical care; always call 911 after using it. Parents, have you been prescribed Auvi-Q for your little one? What has your experience been like? Do you carry it with you at all times? How have you educated family and caregivers on how to use it? Do you have any tips for others who might be new to this? Sharing our experiences can help us all be better prepared.

I'm relieved to see this thread, I had heard about using this drug but wasn't sure about the process. How often do you need to replace the auto-injectors? Are there any side effects?

My nephew had a severe reaction to bees, and his parents had the Auvi-Q ready. It was absolutely crucial. They were able to administer it quickly and effectively, and it saved his life. The EMS arrived shortly after and took him to the hospital. We are so grateful for this medication.

My daughter was prescribed Auvi-Q, and it's been a lifesaver. We've had to use it once, and it worked exactly as it should. The instructions are clear, and the device is easy to use in an emergency. Just make sure to always call 911 after administering, as the effects can be life-saving but are not a full cure.

There are definitely some serious side effects, but the tradeoff is worth it for the peace of mind. We keep two auto-injectors on hand and replace them as needed, usually every six months to a year, as recommended by our pediatrician

We got prescribed Auvi-Q for our son who has a severe peanut allergy. It's definitely scary to think about, but knowing we have it makes us feel safer. We keep it in our car and have taught our family how to use it. It's crucial to have it accessible at all times.

I'm dismayed by the side effects like chest pain and abnormal heartbeat. I hope I never need to use it, but I'm glad we have it just in case. It's a bit scary to think about all the possible reactions.

Just a heads up, make sure to store it properly. It needs to be kept between 68-77°F (20-25°C) and not frozen. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.

The training video on the website was super helpful. It walks you through the steps and shows you exactly what to do. Definitely worth watching if you're new to this.
