Hello everyone, my child was recently diagnosed with Central Precocious Puberty, and the doctor has prescribed Lupron Depot-Ped 11.25mginj/3 Mth. I want to know more about this medicine. I understand it's given via injection every three months and helps slow down or stop the early development of puberty. However, I am worried about the possible side effects. The doctor explained there are some serious side effects to watch out for, like allergic reactions, seizures, mood changes, and more. On the other hand, most people experience no side effects or only mild ones. I'm curious about everyone's experience with this medication. How's it working out for you? How did you handle the injection process? What side effects have you noticed? Any tips for managing them? I'd appreciate any insights or advice you can share. Thanks in advance!

I wish there was more information out there about the long-term effects. I’ve been looking for studies but haven’t found much. If anyone has data or personal experiences, please share. It would help me feel more at ease about this!

I know this is a tough topic, but has anyone else noticed any long-term effects? Like, will there be any issues when my child reaches normal puberty age? I'm worried about the long-term impact. Any info would be super helpful. Thanks!

Just a warning, we didn't experience any serious side effects, but the injection site irritation was pretty bad at first. We had to switch to a different injection spot and use some numbing cream, which helped a lot. Stick with it, though—it gets better with time.

I've been giving my son Lupron for about 6 months. I have to say, if it's working, it's worth the trouble and expense. However, the cost is ridiculously high. We've had to fight with insurance a few times to get it covered. But aside from the financial strain, it's been worth it to see the puberty development slow down. No serious side effects, just a few hot flashes and some upset stomachs, but nothing major. Definitely worth it in our case.

How do you handle the injection process? My kid is terrified of needles, and it's been a nightmare. Any tips would be appreciated!

Hot take: This drug is a lifesaver, but the injection process is brutal. My son hates it, and it's tough on us too. But seeing the results makes it worth it. We've had no serious side effects so far, just some mood swings and hot flashes, but nothing we can't handle.
