I just started my 5 year old daughter on Alkindi Sprinkles 0.5mg Capsules and was wondering if anyone else has experience with this medication. It's designed for kids who need cortisol replacement, and I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. The doctor went over the side effects but I want to hear from other parents. I'm a bit worried about the possible serious side effects. I noticed some weight gain already and I'm not sure if it's normal or if we need to adjust the dosage. Also, what do you do if your child has vomiting spells? Should you continue with the medicine? Any help and insights would be great!

For the weight gain try to focus on healthier foods. My kid was loving a bunch of bad food and it triggered the weight gain. We changed a few things and it was better.

Seriously though, I'm wondering if it's best to split the dosage. My sister said that her daughter's doctor suggested splitting it up to make it easier on the digestive system. Thoughts?

I've heard some parents say their kids had trouble sleeping at first, but it got better over time. If your daughter’s having trouble sleeping, maybe try a calmer bedtime routine.

My kid was a bit restless at first, but it got better. Just give it time and keep monitoring. The doctor will help with the process.

We've been on Alkindi for a couple of months now and it's been a game changer. My daughter’s energy levels are up, and she’s handling stress a lot better. Just make sure to keep an eye on any unusual symptoms and report them to your doctor. Don't be worried and keep the conversation going with your child's healthcare team.

I've heard that some kids might experience mood changes, so keep an eye out for that. It's not fun, but it's part of the journey. Stick with it and don't stress out. The doctor should be able to help.

The weight gain is common, it was concerning to me too but the doctor said it's usually related to the dosage. I had to adjust it a bit to get it right. Try using a food diary to see if there are certain foods that are making the weight gain worse. My son was a little at first, but just be patient and persistent.

Seriously, this stuff saved our lives. Our daughter was a mess before we started Alkindi. She was failing school, could barely play with her friends. Her teachers were losing their minds. It's been a huge improvement.

When did your doctor say to expect these changes? It says on the label that some effects might take a while to show up. We started my kid on the same meds and my neighbor said it took a few months for her to see a difference.

I only wish my kids weren't so picky eaters. I've been trying to find creative ways to get my kids to take these capsules. They hate the taste and mixing with food is a must.
